I recently stayed at St Thomas Home'S Guesthouse in Jerusalem and was truly blown away by the exceptional experience it provided. As a peace activist, I was thrilled to find a hotel located in a mixed Christian and Muslim neighborhood, just steps away from the Old City, offering a unique perspective on Jerusalem's diverse cultural tapestry and history. The staff's dedication to meeting guests' needs was outstanding; they not only arranged airport transfers and taxis promptly but also ensured our comfort by providing cleaner sheets upon request. Additionally, the Mediterranean-style breakfast spread featuring dishes like hummus and pickled veggies was not only delicious but also a perfect introduction to the flavors of the region.The room, though simple, was immaculately clean and spacious, offering a comfortable sanctuary after a day of exploring the city. What truly stood out was the serene chapel within the property and the picturesque garden, creating moments of tranquility amid the bustling city. Despite being close to major attractions like the Garden Tomb and Damascus Gate, the hotel managed to provide a peaceful retreat away from the chaos. The friendly staff's attention to detail, from waiting outside to guide us to parking to offering local insights, made us feel truly valued as guests.In terms of facilities, the hotel's free toiletries and electric kettle added a touch of convenience to our stay, while the absence of ironing facilities and garden furniture did not detract from the overall exceptional experience. As a seasoned traveler and advocate for cultural exchange, I can confidently say that St Thomas Home'S Guesthouse exceeded my high expectations in every aspect, offering a harmonious blend of comfort, hospitality, and local charm that made my week-long trip to Jerusalem truly unforgettable.
